Joe lives and works in the Flathead Valley of Montana, where a strong connection to land stewardship and the outdoors shapes both his personal life and professional perspective. Outside of work, he enjoys time on the water—particularly on Flathead Lake—which he considers his favorite place to reset. He is a licensed Montana fishing guide and an avid hunter, experiences that reinforce his appreciation for land, wildlife, and responsible management. Joe values education as a lifelong pursuit and holds the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation, a Deer Steward Level II certification, and a commercial drone pilot’s license.
Joe brings the better part of a decade of experience in real estate and is a licensed broker in multiple states. He is part of the founding team of Compass West Land Sales, an arm of Compass Land Partners. His practice is centered on investment properties, with a primary focus on large-acreage land, while also encompassing commercial, residential, subdivision, and development transactions.
Before transitioning into real estate, Joe worked as a civil and environmental engineer in the oil and gas industry. That technical background continues to inform his approach—analytical, data-driven, and grounded in understanding both risk and opportunity. His experience includes land sales across the Rocky Mountain West, Midwest hunting properties, and the Northeast, as well as transactions involving conservation easements, mineral rights, and creative deal structures.
Joe is also an active real estate investor who manages an income-producing portfolio, allowing him to advise clients from firsthand experience. He believes in treating every transaction as if it were his own, prioritizing clear communication, thoughtful negotiation, and collaboration with an experienced team. He has a tendency to dive deep into the details—often asking one more question or running one more analysis than strictly necessary—but that diligence is intentional and focused on protecting his clients’ interests. Resilience is a defining trait in both his professional and personal life. His childhood hero is his dad, and if he ends up being half the man he is, Joe considers that a success.
